| Sean-Michael
Green is an expert on topics related to higher education among
non-traditional groups.
Sean-Michael was not
a good student in high school. His grades were horrible (especially in
Algebra II where he never wrote more than his name on an exam in his senior
year), and he had no intention of going to college. Instead, he enlisted
in the United States Marine
Corps.
He
served four years on Active Duty, participating as a team member in a
variety of successful missions. He served primarily as an Infantryman
in 2nd Battalion,
8th Marines. In addition to two six-month "floats," he deployed to
locations such as Panama, Cuba, and Iraq during the First Gulf War. After
leaving Active Duty, he entered the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, where
he served an additional six years. As a Marine, Sean-Michael evolved into
a creative and effective leader.
Sean-Michael wandered
into a community college after separating from Active Duty. His first
semester was an experiment, and he had little hope that he would fare
better in college than he did in high school. But he quickly learned that
he loved learning and being a non-traditional student; he found so much
money for school that he was making a profit attending college; and he
discovered an aptitude for classroom and independent learning.
He
transferred to the University
of Pittsburgh, where he graduated the University Honors College, magna
cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He earned several graduate
degrees at the University
of Pennsylvania and Cornell
University, and he studied at Columbia
University, Carnegie Mellon University, and the Université de Paris 1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne).
Professionally, Sean-Michael
has more than 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and manager. After founding a food delivery company during his last year on Active duty, he created Services and
Solutionsa company that he managed
for more than six years and he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Memories RPA, Inc.a
technology company that recorded, preserved, and archived memories of individuals and families.
In 2000, Sean-Michael
founded SES College Services. The company hired graduate students at the
most selective and elite universities to serve as mentors to non-traditional college applicants.
The company worked with military clients around the world helping them to achieve their educational goals.
After more than
three years with SES College Services, Sean-Michael sold the assets of the company and began consulting
through Sean-Michael Green, Inc.
Sean-Michael currently serves as the Dean of Graduate and Adult Enrollment at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. In addition, Sean-Michael teaches

Sean-Michael participates as a leader in many civic
activities. He is a a mentor to entrepreneurs, and he serves as a judge and mentor in Wharton's annual Business
Plan Competition. He was one of the founding members of the Allegheny County
Bar Association’s Military and Veteran Affairs Committee, and he is also

Advisory Council on Military and Veteran Education. Previously, he served as a volunteer
and a member of the Board of Directors for Big
Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh; he was General Counsel and a Board Member for Digital
Briefing, Inc.; and he donated his time as a pro bono attorney with Neighborhood
Legal Services Association in Pennsylvania.
